Adventure Details

The excursion to Cueva Ventuna (Window Cave) and Playa Cueva del Indio (Indian Cave Beach) we will be visiting the karst area in the north of the island in the city of Arecibo. We begin the excursion in Cueva Ventana with an exploration walk that takes us to the interior of the Cueva Ventana that is on a mountain located above the Arecibo Valley! This is a guided tour by a biologist where we will learn about the geology, flora and fauna of the area, and they will give us safety equipment such as a helmet and lights. Inside the cave we can see the petroglyphs of the Taino culture and at the end of the cave one of the most majestic views of the island, the Arecibo Valley and the Rio Grande de Arecibo converging! Upon leaving the cave we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and then visit one of the most spectacular beaches on the island, The Cueva del Indio Beach, where we will explore a large part of it by walking on the reef. From the beach we can enjoy the view of the “Monument of the Discovery”, a gigantic statue of Christopher Columbus, almost half the size of the Statue of Liberty in New York City. Prepare for a day of adventure and exploration and do not forge your camera because you will be in one of the most scenic locations on the island.
